When you submit a legal-information question, we process the text you enter, your selected topic, state and language style, and the limited conversation context included in the request. If you use document text review, we also process the redacted excerpt you submit, the optional state and your selected language style to generate a response. Document review currently accepts pasted text only, not files; users are asked to remove identifying and confidential information before submitting. Browser-based case briefs and timelines stay in the page memory and are not submitted to ABL for storage. Infrastructure providers may process technical information such as IP address and request metadata. A Cloudflare Turnstile check may process security signals to reduce automated abuse.
We send questions and limited conversation context to our AI service provider to generate a response. This is general information only, not a private solicitor–client service. Please do not provide names, addresses, financial details, case numbers, confidential documents or other identifying information.
The website keeps conversational history in temporary in-page memory, not browser localStorage or sessionStorage; refreshing or closing the page clears the displayed history. The beta backend does not intentionally save question text or document review excerpts in the ABL legal-excerpts or aggregate analytics database. Nevertheless, our infrastructure and AI/security providers may process and retain certain information under their terms and policies. After an AI answer, beta testers can optionally select Helpful, Confusing or Incomplete. We store only separate daily totals for those three responses. We do not keep the underlying question, answer, conversation, user name, device identifier, IP address or an individual vote record in the analytics database. A short-lived randomly generated signed receipt validates that a vote follows a successful answer and limits repeat submissions in server memory; it is not used to identify users. As with other website requests, infrastructure providers may process technical connection data. No free-text feedback is requested.
For each successfully answered question, ABL adds to daily aggregate counters for total answers, the selected legal topic, selected language style, whether the response suggested consulting a lawyer, and a voluntarily provided Nigerian state or FCT if it matches a recognised location. Each category is counted separately; no individual event records or combinations of attributes are retained for these statistics. We do not intentionally save question text, conversation history, names, device identifiers or IP addresses in the analytics database. The counts help us prioritise beta improvements and future lawyer services. Hosting, security and AI providers may still process service data as described elsewhere in this notice.
Current providers for this beta are Netlify (website hosting), Render (API hosting), OpenAI (AI processing) and Cloudflare Turnstile (abuse protection). Relevant provider privacy policies are available from Netlify, Render, OpenAI, and Cloudflare.
Opening ABL Legal Map loads MapLibre GL JS from the unpkg content delivery network and street-map tiles from OpenFreeMap. These providers receive technical connection information and approximate map-area requests, subject to their privacy policies. ABL does not intentionally transmit legal questions, case briefs, timelines or precise device GPS location to mapping providers. The preview does not request device location permission.
